I had a fantastic time during my rotation here as a fourth-year medical student. Everyone here is super nice, and it is a very positive work environment. I really felt that education was prioritized here and that by coming here I would get excellent training in family medicine.

I chose York family medicine for several reasons. It has a strong reputation within the medical community with its patient-centered care and comprehensive, supportive training. The curriculum covers all the bases, and you can be as involved as you want if you have a special interest in a particular field.
The location was also a draw for me as I was looking to join a smaller community after living in several larger cities. However, Baltimore, Philly, and D.C. are within comfortable driving distance if I feel the need to go. I have really enjoyed my time here so far and look forward to what the next few years may bring!

I chose York Family Medicine because of the inviting atmosphere that I observed during my interview and touring process. All the residents were extremely kind, welcoming, and immediately made me feel at home. When meeting the various attendings, I felt that they took great interest in getting to know who I am, my interests, and where I would like to take my career in family medicine.
I enjoy all of the different opportunities there are for growth in multiple areas at York, such as global health, pediatrics and sports medicine. There is obvious investment and dedication into the profession of family medicine as demonstrated by the brand-new Thomas Hart Family Medicine Clinic.

I did an audition rotation at York and immediately knew this was the place I wanted to be. The best way I can describe the program is homey. The biggest thing that stood out to me was how genuinely kind and happy the people were here —from the attendings, residents and nursing staff to the office and janitorial staff.
When it comes to patient care and teamwork throughout the program and hospital, they really do place a heavy emphasis on the golden rule of treating others the way you would want to be treated. I am so happy to be here.

Where to start? I wanted a program that had global health exposure as this is what I would like to do at some point in my career. Also, the average board scores from this program gave me a good objective measure of what level of training I would get.
Additionally, the vibe I felt from the residents and faculty during interviews made me feel at home and confident that I would enjoy my three years of residency surrounded by warm and friendly people (I was not wrong). Finally, the location was perfect for me and my family: small city but close enough to big cities.

WellSpan York Hospital felt like the perfect fit for me. During my interview, I could tell this program put time and effort into learning about me as an applicant. I had wonderful conversations with Dr. Robert and others, as if I was talking to my lifelong friends.
There is also a supportive and friendly environment here, which naturally drew me to this program. After visiting during a second look and experiencing the amazing faculty, staff and residents, I knew that WellSpan York was where I wanted to be.
