Program completion
Our radiography program’s mission is to prepare competent, entry-level radiographers who are able to function within the health care community.
Our school is guided by the mission statement, values, and strategies of WellSpan Health. Upon completion of our program, you’ll have achieved the following goals and skills.
Student learning goals
Goal #1: All students will be clinically competent. You’ll:
- use appropriate positioning skills and appropriate technique factors
- employ appropriate radiation protection
- apply appropriate patient care
Goal #2: All students will demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills within the clinical environment. You’ll:
- evaluate diagnostic images and determine appropriate corrections
- modify routine radiographic skills to accommodate various patient conditions and other variables
Goal #3: All students will practice effective communication. You’ll:
- conduct appropriate professional oral communication skills
- apply appropriate professional written communication skills

Registry exam eligibility
In addition to completing our program, you must meet another requirement from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) to take the national registry exam. ARRT requires that you have an associate’s degree or higher.
The degree doesn’t need to be health care related. Our radiography program has added several prerequisites for program entrance to satisfy the ARRT’s exam requirements.
Additionally, our program will accept degrees and credits only from regionally accredited colleges, such as those in:
- Middle State Association of Colleges and Schools
- New England Association of Colleges and Schools
- North Central Association of Colleges and Schools
- Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges
- Southern Association of Colleges and Schools
- Western Association of Schools and Colleges
Graduation eligibility
To graduate from our radiography program, you must meet the following requirements:
- Accomplish our program's objectives, goals and requirements.
- Have an associate’s, bachelor’s or graduate degree from an accredited institution that is acceptable to ARRT to be eligible to sit for the registry exam.
- Complete all courses.
- Receive a cumulative didactic and cumulative clinical average of 85 percent (a “B” grade) or higher.
- Receive an 85 percent (a “B” grade) or higher on one mock registry.
- Pay all fees and expenses owed to the program.
- Be in compliance with our program policies regarding attendance, ethics, policies and procedures.
- Return your parking "hang tag," ID badges and radiation badges.
